About Us:

The Waterford Inne is a charming, family operated  farm-to-table Inn located on a beautiful 17-acre property in the quaint town  of  Waterford, Maine. Our historic 1800's home offers an authentic and charming feel, with 8 unique rooms, a farm-to-table restaurant, and a stunning antique barn serving as a bar and event/wedding venue. We have a small farm, and are deeply committed to supporting local vendors for our meat and dairy products, and we actively engage with the community through various events and partnerships. Our future plans include expanding our offerings with and hosting a variety of retreats and gatherings. Our goal is to create a unique experience for our guests through award winning culinary offerings, exceptional service, a plethora of activities and a breathtaking peaceful setting. 


Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate individual (or potential for the right couple) to join our team as an Innkeeper. This role offers the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of activities, from guest services to event planning, while promoting healthy food options, sustainability, and community engagement.

Responsibilities:

Guest Services: Provide exceptional hospitality to guests, including check-in/out, concierge services, and personalized experiences.

Guest Relations: Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and special requests with professionalism and attention to detail. Manage phone and email, and use our reservation system for both guest rooms and restaurant. 

Breakfast: Collaborate with the restaurant team to execute seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients and special offerings for guests.

Property Management: Oversee daily operations, including housekeeping, maintenance, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Event Coordination: Assist in planning and coordinating weddings, retreats, family gatherings, and other special events hosted at the inn.

Community Engagement: Collaborate with local vendors, artisans, and organizations to support community initiatives and promote local products and services. Response to community communications as appropriate by phone, visit, invitation to stop by, personal mailed note. 

Marketing and Promotion: Contribute ideas and assist in implementing marketing strategies to attract guests and promote inn activities and events.

Professional Development: Stay updated on industry trends, hospitality best practices, and sustainable living principles to enhance guest experiences and inn operations.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in hospitality, event planning, or a related field preferred.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Passion for sustainability, local sourcing, and promoting healthy living.

  • Ability to work independently, multitask, and thrive in a dynamic environment.

  • Ability to anticipate and problem-solve minor to major issues

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure,  “think on your feet”

  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.

  • Willingness to learn and grow in the role is essential.

  • Knowledge of local attractions, outdoor activities, and community resources is a plus.
