Happy New Year!

This year was a big one! In March 2021, We, the Vanderblue Family were on a ski trip to Sunday River when we stumbled upon a bed and breakfast for sale. After a grand tour from former & original Innkeeper, Barbara Vanderzanden, our eyes were glistening with excitement at the endless opportunity before us, as we explored the historical farmhouse, barn & grounds.

I (Kember) moved up to the Inn in June and worked amongst Barb and Jan in their final months as innkeepers. We spent summer nights laughing around the kitchen table, exhausted after serving breakfast to a full house, cleaning the rooms , and more often than not, serving four course dinners to locals who have frequented the Inn for dinner for years, decades, and sometimes generations.

On August 10, the torch was officially passed from the Vanderzanden Family, to the Vanderblues. And so the new chapter officially began!

And now, as the year comes to a close, we are just as busy as ever: redecorating a few of the rooms, building a commercial kitchen so that we can continue to serve dinner as the Inn has for decades. In addition to planning to renovate the barn, building a farm to table bar in the barn & beer garden, carving out XC trails in our woods, and gradually expanding our farming operation!

We are so grateful to have been accepted into the Waterford town community, and by neighboring townsfolk, and are eternally grateful for this dream-come-true opportunity!

In 2022 we look forward to serving and hosting you in a variety of ways, from intimate farm to table dining experiences, hot sourdough loafs, seasonal cocktails and local beer, cider and cheese.

Not to mention, classic & comfortable stays in our renovated and redecorated rooms!

If you don’t already follow us on Instagram, we will continue posting videos and pictures of our renovations, and before and after pictures!

Stay tuned!

Newsletters in 2022 will feature seasonal recipes & cocktails, farming tips, updates on what’s new & what’s to come!

We wish you a Happy New Year!
